January 21 is 18 years since Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit had their first child together, Princess Ingrid Alexandra.
Thursday informs The government that the 18th anniversary be postponed.

– Government Day is a big event in the lives of all young people. This applies not least to an heir to the throne who is to represent Norway and the Norwegian people. I had looked forward to celebrating Princess Ingrid Alexandra on Government Day, but unfortunately the infection situation does not make it possible now. I still hope she has a nice celebration with her loved ones, says Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
As the princess is heir to the throne, and will one day inherit the Norwegian throne, her official day is an anniversary in Norwegian history.

Furthermore, it appears that the official celebration, including the gala dinner at the Palace, is postponed until the infection situation makes it justifiable with large events.
The celebration should have taken place on the princess’ birthday.
