Crown Prince Haakon’s and Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, was born at Rikshospitalet in Oslo on 21 January 2004. She is second in line to the throne, after her father.

The princess is probably celebrating her 20th birthday in the north, as she is now starting her first service at Skjold camp in Indre Troms.

She arrived at the camp last week, and in the coming weeks she will complete recruit school, where she will receive basic military training.

– We usually mark birthdays by singing a birthday song together, and then the birthday person has to do pushups to the birthday song, says soldier Frida Berge-Urgård in Skjold camp in Troms to NTB.

She thinks the princess can expect the same birthday celebration.

– I will count on that, she says.

She also posed for a photo together with her fellow soldiers and the management in the camp.
