Princess Charlotte accompanied her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to the Commonwealth Games on Tuesday and the youngster was swept up in the atmosphere.

During his time in Birmingham, he sat down with his parents to watch the swimming qualifiers and also watched a hockey game. Charlotte also joined her parents in a SportsAid pledge to learn about a program that prepares the next generation of athletes for future events.

He was also able to update the England team medal table, adding a bronze medal for men’s table tennis and a silver for men’s bowling.

Tim Lawler, chief executive of Sports Aid, said: “I noticed that the Duke and Duchess, as we were trying to do, included Charlotte in the talks; we were very aware of that and it was really very apparent that the Duke and Duchess Duchess were doing that, I guess, to include her and reassure her.

Charlotte joined her parents during the Commonwealth Games.

“She was lovely, very willing to put the medals on the medal board, and she asked the right question, which was, ‘Where exactly should I put this?’ It was by date and she checked it.

Charlotte is a huge sports fan and ahead of the Women’s Euro final, which took place on Sunday, she and her father wished the Lionesses luck.
