From the autumn of 2026, a new musical production about the life of former Queen Beatrix will be shown. Production house MediaDome announces that it is working on the development of Beatrix the musical.
Beatrix the musical takes the audience into the life of the former queen who was on the throne from 1980 to 2013. The audience sympathizes with moving events she experienced as queen and her life within the walls of the palace. Producers Alex Mensen and Okke Verberk are excited to finally announce their plans: “We have been working with this unique idea for years.”
Grand and spectacular
The musical will be performed in a theater yet to be built. A new theater is being set up in an existing hall in Best, near Eindhoven. It was a long search for the right location. “A year and a half ago we started looking for a suitable location where we could stage the musical in a grand and spectacular way, and we found it,” said the producer.
It is not yet known who will take on the role of Beatrix. It is known that the performance will be shown from the autumn of 2026.
Princess Beatrix
Beatrix took over the throne from her mother Juliana on her 42nd birthday, April 30, 1980. She experienced a lot in the years before, during and after her reign. From many state visits, Queen’s Days, Christmas speeches, but also the attack in Apeldoorn and the loss of her son Friso. Princess Beatrix is now over 80 years old and left her queenship behind her 10 years ago. What moving events we experience Beatrix the musical going to see it remains to be seen.
