Princess Amalia welcomed in Council of State

The day before his eldest daughter’s birthday, King Willem-Alexander celebrated an entirely different milestone. In The Hague, he and the Heart Foundation celebrated that almost all of the Netherlands is equipped with cabinets with AED equipment. This allows people to be quickly resuscitated in the event of a cardiac arrest. Blue Bloods was at the celebration and the king spoke afterwards about the health of his mother, who has tested positive for the corona virus.

In the recently published biography ‘Amalia’ by Claudia de Breij we read that the Princess of Orange is very charmed by the reverence or the royal nod. But what is that again? Etiquette expert Anne-Marie van Leggelo explains it to us.

Also: Princess Laurentien opened the exhibition ‘tree, rose, fish’ in the National Education Museum in Dordrecht on Thursday. An exhibition about learning to read and reading pleasure. The princess, a champion of reading and writing for many years, was completely in her element!

And with fashion journalist Josine Droogendijk, we look back at the outfits Queen Máxima has worn in recent weeks. What struck her?

You can see this and more royal news from home and abroad on Saturday, December 11 at 7:55 PM on NPO 2.
