London, Aug 30 (EFE).- Princes William and Harry, sons of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, attended the funeral of their mother’s brother-in-law, Robert Fellowes, on Thursday in the English county of Norfolk, but did not speak to each other, the newspaper ‘The Sun’ revealed on Friday.
The Duke of Sussex, Harry, traveled from the United States, where he lives with his wife, Meghan, and their two children, to attend the religious service that took place at St. Mary’s Church, in the town of Snettisham, in Norfolk (eastern England).
Fellowes, who died earlier this month aged 82, was private secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth II and was married to Jane Fellowes, one of Diana, Princess of Wales’s sisters.
According to the British newspaper, the brothers, estranged since Prince Harry abandoned his duties to the monarchy in early 2020, made a discreet appearance and sat separately in the religious temple.
A person who attended the funeral, as quoted by the newspaper, said William and Harry kept their distance and did not speak to each other.
The brothers also did not see each other earlier this year when Enrique travelled from the US to see his father after he announced he was suffering from cancer, details of which have not been given, and was undergoing oncological treatment.
In the biographical book that the Duke of Sussex published last year, ‘Spare’, he accused his brother of having pushed him into a dog bowl in a fight they had related to Prince Harry’s relationship with actress Meghan Markle. EFE
