As a working royal, Prince William also receives a salary. Within a year, his total salary reached billions of rupiah.
According to the Duchy of Cronwall’s annual report, this year Prince William received a personal income of nearly $7.5 million or around Rp.113.9 billion. The income was obtained from his duties as the Duke of Cornwall.
Prince William, who is also the Prince of Wales, became the 25th Duke of Cornwall after his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II died and his father ascended the throne as King Charles III. Once Prince William inherits the title, he receives a surplus from the profits earned in his realm.
The Duchy of Cornwall, or the Duchy of Cornwall, is an estate built by King Edward III in 1337. The estate is estimated to be worth 1 billion pounds sterling or around Rp 18.9 trillion.
The income generated from the estate is used to fund various public and private activities, as well as charities organized by the Duke of Cornwall alias Prince William. The Duchy of Cornwall recorded a net income of USD 30.34 million or around IDR 452 billion which was earned in 2022 to 2023.
Usually Prince William will receive the full USD34.30 million surplus. But that has reportedly changed since he inherited the estate midway through the financial year.
