Today, Tuesday, Prince William’s big day has finally arrived. Of course, we are not talking about taking over the throne properly yet, but today the British mark that the prince has lived for 40 years.
The royal family has not passed by, and several members of the family have taken to social media to congratulate William, including Prince Charles (73).
“Wish the Duke of Cambridge a very happy 40th birthday”, it says in a post to a number of photos from decades on Instagram.
The photo was shared on Charles and Duchess Camilla’s (74) Instagram account, Clarence House, and has so far received over 90,000 likes.
– Today, Prince William turns 40, and on that occasion, Prince Charles pays tribute to his son with a series of cozy flash shots of the eldest son. Cozy pictures of the two together from William was a newborn to a very loving picture of the two in the present, where William cares carefully about his father, says See and Hear royal house expert, Caroline Vagle.

The latest photo in the photo carousel was taken by Duchess Kate (40), the prince’s wife, and was first published in connection with Father’s Day in 2020.
– It has become very common to pay tribute to each other on social media on birthdays, so also in royal circles. But Prince Charles has probably also provided a private surprise for his son on his big day, Vagle continues.
The prince himself has taken to Twitter to thank him for all the nice birthday messages he has received today. The message is signed «W».
Thank you for all the happy birthday messages today! W
