According to the palace, a funeral mass will be held in St. George’s Chapel in Windsor. The ceremony will be preceded by a nationwide minute of silence at 15:00 (16:00 CET). It will be a ceremonial, not a state funeral, and will therefore take place without public access. There will be an eight-day state mourning in Britain before the funeral.

The Royal Palace also stated that the number of mourners would be limited to thirty. The service will be held in accordance with the restrictions imposed due to the spread of covid-19. In this context, members of the royal family, including the queen herself, are expected to wear protective equipment.

According to a Reuters agency, a spokesman for Buckingham Palace also confirmed, among other things, that the grandson of the late Harry, who now lives in Los Angeles, intends to attend the funeral. But his pregnant wife Meghan will not come on the advice of her doctor.
