The adventure epic “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” officially opens in Mtel IMAX and on standard cinema screens in Bulgaria today – May 21, a week before it opens in the USA.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is the most anticipated movie title this summer. A Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Film production, the adventure epic is directed by Mike Newell (“Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”) and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Sir Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina.
An adaptation of the Prince of Persia video game by Jordan Mechner, who also co-wrote the screenplay, the film tells the story of free-spirited young Prince Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal) who teams up with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to protect a dagger from evil forces , granting power over the Sands of Time.
In a special ceremony in Hollywood, Jerry Bruckheimer was welcomed by the American Film Institute on the Walk of Fame. In the presence of stars such as Bruce Willis, Eddie Murphy, Tom Cruise, Nicolas Cage, Billy Bob Thornton and many others, the legendary producer placed his hand and foot prints in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
