Prince Nikolai tells BT that the move is about an exchange stay, in connection with the education he is currently taking at Copenhagen Business School.

Prince Nikolai started a bachelor’s degree at the aforementioned school in the autumn of 2019. When he now moves to Paris, he also gets closer to his father, Prince Joachim (52).
Last fall the prince landed himself a prestigious job in Paris, when he started working as a defense attaché from 1 September, where he acts as a link between the Danish and French defense.
Prince Nikolai’s upcoming stay abroad is among the many choices he has made in the last couple of years, to become a more independent man.
The 21-year-old moved in last summer with his girlfriend Benedikte Thoustrup, and shortly afterwards it became known that he had bought a brand new luxury apartment in Copenhagen. Thus, he moved out of the apartment he had lived in until then, which was located by Queen Margrethe’s (81) castle, Amalienborg.
He has also graced the covers of a number of fashion magazines, and was seen as a cover model on the Ukrainian edition of Vogue last year.

The move to Prince Nikolai takes place just over a year after it became known that his father, Prince Joachim, was hospitalized with a blood clot in the brain. The prince was in hospital for ten days, before he was discharged and discharged.

When the prince arrived at the hospital on July 24 last year, he is said to have had surgery immediately. The family has spoken out about the incident several times since. The prince’s ex-wife, Countess Alexandra, was among those who spoke out.

– The whole situation around my father has obviously shocked the whole family. But, I feel that it has strengthened us as a family even more, and it has reminded us to value each other, the prince told the Danish weekly.
