A few weeks before Nikolai’s third birthday, he gets a little brother: Prince Felix. The first years of their lives they grow up in Schackenborg Slot in the south of Denmark, near the village of Møgeltønder. Unfortunately, their parents’ marriage does not last. After the divorce in 2005, Nikolai and Felix move to Copenhagen with their mother.
In the Danish capital, Nikolai – like his father and his uncle Frederik – attends a private school. This is followed by a few years at the Herlufsholm boarding school in Næstved. At the age of 15, the prince can be heard in a Danish radio program. As a guest DJ, he shares his favorite music on the broadcast. Nikolai presents his listeners with the song SexyBack by Justin Timberlake.
At the end of his high school period, Nikolai works as a model. At the beginning of 2018, the prince will make his catwalk debut and after that he will walk several fashion shows for Dior. He has also graced the cover of Ukrainian Vogue.
