This is stated by the Danish royal family, according to BT.
Prince Christian is the eldest child of Crown Prince Frederik (52) and Crown Princess Mary (49), and will one day inherit the Danish throne. Prince Joachim was the godfather’s sponsor in 2006, so it is enough with a heavy heart that they will not be able to participate when the baptism is to be confirmed on Saturday next week.
The prince and princess usually live in Paris, France with their children Athena (9) and Henrik (12). It’s the corona pandemic that makes the family miss Prince Christian’s big day.
Crown Princess Mary’s father, John Donaldson, will not be seen in the confirmation either. He is currently in the UK.
Crown Princess Mary’s Australian sisters Jane and Patricia, as well as her brother John, are also not allowed to attend. Thus, no foreign guests will attend the prince’s big day.
“Due to the corona situation, guests from abroad do not participate in Prince Christian’s confirmation. Unfortunately, this means that no one from the immediate family from France, Great Britain and Australia will be present on the day “, communications manager Lene Balleby states in a press release.
Earlier this week, it was also announced that Crown Princess Mette-Marit (47) and Crown Prince Haakon (47) will not be allowed to participate in the confirmation either.
Normally, guests from a number of royal houses abroad would have participated in the celebration, but this is not the case.
The Norwegian Crown Prince and Crown Princess were sponsors of Prince Christian’s baptism in January 2006, and therefore self-described guests on the big day. However, they will not be seen in Denmark, confirmed the castle’s assistant communications manager Sven Gj. Gjeruldsen to Danish See and listen on Tuesday.
“I can inform you that no one from the Norwegian royal family will be present at His Royal Highness’ confirmation of Prince Christian,” he told the magazine.
