Jakarta –
Prince Harry again made a shocking confession in public recently. Ahead of the screening of the documentary series Heart of Invictus which he made together Meghan Marklehe said he had experienced depression after the war from Afghanistan.
In 2012, Harry returned to England after expanding into a stint in Afghanistan. During his stay in the conflicted country, he admitted that he experienced many emotional feelings, especially those related to the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
When his mother died, Harry was only 12 years old. During that time, he always harbored existing emotions and never discussed Princess Diana’s impact on his life.
“The biggest struggle for me is that no one around me can really help,” he said.
“I didn’t have the support structure, network, expert advice to identify what was really going on with me,” continued the father of two.
Unfortunately most of us, he continued, do not think to go to a psychologist and do therapy. Until one day, Harry realized his mental condition was not fine.
“For most of us, the first time you consider therapy is when you’re lying on the floor in a fetal position, probably wishing you’d experienced this before,” she stressed.
According to Harry, the conditions that occurred in Afghanistan cannot be described in words. Because of this apprehensive condition, two years later he created an event called the Invictus Games like the Paralympics which was designed for military veterans around the world to try to overcome injuries on the battlefield.
Together with Meghan Markle, Harry made a documentary series after deciding to step down from the British monarchy in early 2020 and move to Southern California. When attending a documentary preview that was broadcast on Netflix, he asked the public to watch at least two episodes.
“You could watch it tonight, or at least two episodes to whet your appetite,” Harry said.
