The new documentary series Heart of Invictus from prince Harry can finally be seen. Earlier this week, the Sussexes’ project came out on Netflix. During the premiere of the series, the prince gives a speech about the little prince with loving words Archie.
Emotional speech from Meghan
The long awaited documentary Heart of Invictus debuted on Netflix last Wednesday. In the first episode we can see how Prince Harry, during the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games in The Hague in 2022, addresses the public. Once Meghan Markle is applauded as she walks into the arena, she proudly introduces her husband to the audience. The Duchess of Sussex gets visibly emotional for a moment when she speaks of her lover.
For example, she talks about the ‘early mornings and late nights’ the prince had endured: “He is the founder of the Invictus Games and the father of our two little ones Archie and Lilibet. Please welcome my incredible husband Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex,” she said with tears in her eyes.
Kind words for Archie
During Prince Harry’s subsequent speech, which also appeared in Heart of Invictus can be seen, he talks about his son Archie, among other things. For example, the prince shares that he and Meghan regularly chat with the little one about what he wants to be when he grows up. “It takes strength and courage to become role models like you,” he said. “When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, it’s an astronaut some days and a pilot other days – a helicopter pilot, of course. Or Kwazii van Octonauts. If you laugh, you’ve seen it,” jokes the prince as he talks about his son’s love for the Cbeebies cartoon series Octonauts.
Harry continues his speech with beautiful words: “But what I remind him is that whatever you want to be when you grow up, it’s your character that matters most. And nothing would make his mother and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us today.”
Personal thank you for the Netherlands
According to the executive producer (also Prince Harry), those involved in the Invictus Games have overcome great challenges. He also paid tribute to “the compassion, friendship and boundless humility” of the Invictus Games. Moreover, he personally thanked the Dutch people for welcoming them with such warm Dutch hospitality. As well as the Dutch royal family, the Ministry of Defense and the government.
