The lawsuit is simply about the invasion of Harry’s (and three other British people’s) privacy. Did the Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), which includes newspapers such as the Daily Mirror, the Sunday Mirror and the Sunday People, hack into the Prince’s voicemail and employ private investigators to obtain private information?
Harry walked into the London courthouse at around 10:40am (our time) this morning. More than an hour later he took the witness stand where Andrew Green KC, the lawyer for the Mirror group, subjected him to a barrage of questions.
Harry took the floor and described his eternal battle with the tabloid press. “In my experience, each member of the royal family is pushed into a specific role. (…) They push you in the direction of a role that suits them best and that sells as many newspapers as possible.” The prince called the tabloids’ behavior “despicable”.
