Lilibet, the 10-month-old daughter of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, recently took her first steps. That says Harry in the American magazine People. “Here sits a proud father,” said the British prince.
Harry is currently in The Hague for the Invictus Games he devised, a sports tournament for mentally and physically injured soldiers and veterans. Meghan accompanied him for the first few days, but Lilibet and son Archie (2) remained at home in the United States. The prince can’t wait for his kids to be old enough to take them to upcoming editions of the Invictus Games.
According to Harry, Archie is also enthusiastic. “I showed him a video of wheelchair basketball and rugby from the Invictus Games in Sydney and he absolutely loved it,” said the prince. “I showed him that some had no legs and others have injuries that are invisible. Not because he asked, but because I wanted to tell him. Children understand a lot and I love seeing things through his eyes; it’s so unfiltered and honest.”
New home
Prince Harry has said in an interview with the American NBC News program Today that he “feels very much at home in the United States”. He also told presenter Hoda Kotb about his visit to his grandmother Queen Elizabeth.
“It was great to be with her again and we had a good laugh as usual, she has a good sense of humor. Meghan and I had a cup of tea with her,” said Harry.
The British prince made it clear that living in the United States does him good. “Yes, for now this is my home and it really feels that way. We have been welcomed here with open arms and there is a very nice community in Santa Barbara.”
Harry and Meghan live in Montecito, a place that falls under the American “county” of Santa Barbara. Their neighbors include Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres. They have a good relationship with both presenters.
