British Prince Harry has arrived in London to attend the unveiling ceremony of a monument to his late mother, Princess Diana, the British electronic publication Maylonline reported, quoted by BTA.

Earlier, the British PA agency quoted a message from the British royal family that the Duke of Cambridge William and the Duke of Sussex Harry will attend the unveiling ceremony of a monument to Princess Diana (1961-1997) next week in London, TASS reported. The ceremony is scheduled for July 1, the 60th anniversary of the birth of the Princess of Wales, in one of the gardens of Kensington Palace, which was her home after her wedding to Britain’s Crown Prince Charles. Due to the pandemic, the ceremony will be in a small circle of relatives and friends of the late Princess Diana. Among them will be the author of the monument, Ian Rank-Broadley.

Princess Diana died in a car accident in Paris on August 31, 1997.

Her young son, Prince Harry, who moved to the United States with his family, arrived in London this afternoon on a flight from Los Angeles and headed to Frogmore Cottage, where he will be quarantined for five days under sanitary measures due to the pandemic. Frogmore, not far from Windsor Palace, where Queen Elizabeth II has lived for more than a year due to the pandemic, was given to Prince Harry and his wife Megan Markle after their wedding. After the quarantine, Prince Harry will be tested for the new coronavirus before joining the ceremony on Thursday. Prince Harry arrived in London alone. His wife, Megan, who recently gave birth to the couple’s second child, Lilibet Diana, stayed in the United States with the baby and her eldest son, Archie.

The monument to Princess Diana was commissioned by her sons William and Harry. The two will meet at its opening for the first time since the funeral of their grandfather, Prince Philip, in April.
