Prince Harry He showed that he is definitely committed to his new community by attending the One805LIVE! Concertwhich raises much-needed funds for Santa Barbara County emergency services.
The Duke of Sussex took to the stage at the glitzy event in Carpinteria, California on Friday, September 20. Harry’s wife Meghan Markle was not present, but the Prince seemed delighted to participate in the important charity concert.
Prince Harry introduced the honoree Loren Courtneya Santa Barbara County Air Support Pilot, with an award and a tribute for his hard work.
“As you’ve probably heard, 22 years [of] “He has completed over 10,000 hours of military service and rarely sees his family because he is always here flying helicopters,” the Duke of Sussex said of Courtney, via People.

Prince Harry asked the air support pilot why he continued to serve his community with such passion.
“I do this because I love doing it and I love doing it for Santa Barbara County,” Courtney explained.
He continued: “It is a rewarding experience every time we go out, whether it is to put out fires or rescue someone in the back country or to perform medical evacuations from vehicle accidents or to conduct police patrols and keep citizens safe.”

When asked by the Duke to recall an unforgettable moment in her career, Courtney reflected on a search and rescue effort she took part in in Colorado.
In a terrifying turn of events, a group of skiers fell off a 30-foot-high embankment and one of them suffered a head injury.
“I learned in the military that you should never leave anyone behind,” Courtney told the Prince.
“We got him out,” he continued. “He spent almost a year in intensive care and then in rehab, and now he’s walking, he got married.”

In addition to honoring Courtney’s incredible work, Prince Harry paid tribute to all of the Santa Barbara County first responders who were in the audience at the One805LIVE! concert.
“You are one of the many heroes here tonight,” Harry told Courtney.
