Prince Harry has confessed that he had to seek therapy after an argument with his wife, Meghan Markle.
He acknowledged in his book ‘Spare’ that he became sensitive in conversation with the actress, because he got ‘disproportionately angry’ at Markle to the point where he confronted her harshly.
After the argument, the couple separated for about 15 minutes and then talked in their room.
“She was calm, but she said in a calm and level tone that she would never tolerate being spoken to like that,” Harry described as he nodded.
His wife also made it clear that she would not tolerate the behavior in the future as she did not want to raise their children in an environment of anger or disrespect.
She asked him where the outburst came from and if he had heard adults talking like that in his childhood, to which he said yes.
“It came from somewhere deep inside, somewhere that needed to be dug up, and it was obvious I could use some help with the job,” Harry mused.
He had already tried to go to therapy, but was unsuccessful, so he suggested that we try again.
“When he said: I think you need to see someone, it was in reaction to an argument we had… In that argument, I unknowingly turned to 12-year-old Harry,” she said.
Harry credited therapy with a renewed confidence, as well as a new perspective and understanding of its value.
