Prince Harry has filed a complaint with a British court over the rejection of a request for police protection by the British authorities. He allegedly wanted to visit his home country, but did not receive a permit under the promise that he would pay the costs himself. But without police protection, returning to Britain is too risky. When Prince Harry and his wife Meghan relinquished their royal duties in 2020 and moved to California, they also lost protection paid by British taxpayers’ money. That wouldn’t be a problem, but returning home brings with it increased risks, which the Duke of Sussex wanted to prevent with police protection. However, he came across an unexpected application. The British authorities rejected her.
The prince’s lawyer said on Saturday that Harry was going to visit his home country and wanted to take Archie and Lilibet’s children with him, but that was too risky without police protection. According to the duke, the private security team in the USA is reliable, but it cannot fully rely on it when traveling to the United Kingdom. He allegedly does not have adequate jurisdiction abroad or access to British intelligence.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex personally fund a private security team for their family, but this security cannot mimic the necessary police protection needed in the United Kingdom, “ stands in the statement. “Without such protection, Prince Harry and his family cannot return home,” it said.
