At 3:53 p.m., Prince Harry drove up to Düsseldorf City Hall in a gray Range Rover – it was his first official appearance at this year’s “Invictus Games.” He was received by Mayor Stephan Keller (CDU) and Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) and hundreds of fans who wanted to catch a glimpse of the prince. The waiting onlookers who had hoped for photos and autographs were disappointed because immediately after the welcome they went to the town hall. In the official rooms, Harry and Pistorius were supposed to sign the city’s Golden Book.

Prince Harry has been in Düsseldorf since Friday
Prince Harry had already landed in Düsseldorf on Friday at 3:52 p.m. on a scheduled British Airways flight (flight number BA940). One of his first people to talk to after arriving was Brigadier General Alfred Marstaller, CEO of the “Invictus Games” 2023. Even before the official dates on Saturday, he met with volunteers and the athletes of the British team.
After he signed the city’s Golden Book together with Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, he continued to the arena, where the two-hour, celebratory opening ceremony will take place from 6 p.m.

These are the “Invictus Games”
The “Invictus Games” are an international sports competition for injured military personnel and are considered a passion project for Afghanistan veteran Prince Harry. More than 500 participants from 21 countries will compete in ten disciplines during the competitions from September 9th to 16th. Harry is also expected to be a guest at ZDF’s current sports studio that evening.
