In a statement read on his behalf in court, prince harry said he felt “forced” to leave the UK after the security downgrade, The Sun reports. He said: “It was very difficult for both my wife and I as we felt compelled to step down from this role and leave the country in 2020.”

“The UK is my home. The UK is the main place of my children’s heritage and a place where I want them to feel at home, just like where they currently live in the USA. But this cannot happen if there is no way to protect them when they are in the UK,” he said.
