Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were seen arriving in Santa Barbara, California this Monday, June 6. The Sussex couple left the UK before the end of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations on Sunday. Quite a symbol…

They came and immediately (or almost) left. The instruction was clear and suffered no contradiction. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had to be discreet for their return to the country. After the Megxit and especially the interview given to Oprah Winfrey, very cruel towards the royal family, it was out of the question that this return to British lands be an opportunity for the Sussexes to showcase themselves. For this Platinum Jubilee, the star was Elizabeth II. The parents of Archie and Lilibet have also very quickly understood that no favor would be granted to them.
Queen Elizabeth II had warned, a few weeks before the festivities, a formal ban on Meghan Markle et Harry to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the other senior members of the British royal family. The queen wanted to be surrounded for this particular moment only by the active members of her clan. An open window incidentally, however, allowed fans of Harry and Meghan to appear in a nice moment of complicity with Lena and Mia, the daughters of Zara Tindall, Harry’s cousin, as well as Isla and Savannah, the daughters of his cousin Peter Phillips.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left on the sly before the end
And the rest of the events were not more pleasant for the Sussexes who faced the boos of the crowd when they appeared at the mass at Saint Paul’s Cathedral, before finding themselves (again the fault of the sacrosanct protocol) very away from the Cambridges and Prince Charles, in the bays of the sacristy. Lilibet’s birthday, June 4, was also not the occasion to shine. If the daughters of Harry’s cousins came to Frogmore Cottage where a small party had been given, Kate and William as well as George, Charlotte and Louis were conspicuous by their absence.
The Cambridges had that day an official visit to Cardiff, the best excuse to avoid reuniting with a brother who today seems to have become a complete stranger. The couple did not make an appearance either at the Jubilee concert on June 4and as the Pageant festivities got underway, the Sussexes packed up and headed to the airport where they took off on a private jet, without having seen the members of the royal family again. “A departure without fanfare. They just left“, said a source close to the palace to the Daily Mail. A departure that does not bode well for the future…
