The interview is in connection with the publication of the prince’s autobiography.
In the new interview, Prince Harry stressed that he is fond of both his father and brother and family in general.
“Nothing I have done in this book or anything else has ever been done with the desire to harm or injure them,” said the prince.
He then unleashed once again on the British royal family, as he has done in previous interviews as well.
He repeated allegations, from the recent Netflix documentary series, that members of the royal family feed the tabloid press lies about him and his family to appear in a better light.
– After many, many years of being told lies about me and my family, there comes a point where… again when you go back to the relationship between some family members and the tabloid press. These members have decided to sleep with the devil. To improve one’s reputation, said Prince Harry.
Prince Harry’s book ‘Spare’, which means reserve, has been on sale since 10 January. But the book was mistakenly published in Spanish bookstores as early as January 5th.
He thinks the family was prejudiced against Meghan
In the TV interview, Prince Harry says he thinks his family is biased and thinks in stereotypes.
– I don’t think they expected me to ever end up in a relationship with someone like Meghan, who has had a very successful career.
Ham believes both the royal family and the British press were stereotypically prejudiced against his wife.
– In part the way my brother and sister-in-law behaved it clearly seemed to me that stereotypes created a significant barrier.
He thinks the family behaved terribly after the queen’s death
It emerges from the Spare book that King Charles said no to Meghan being allowed to accompany Prince Harry to Balmoral Castle in Scotland when Queen Elizabeth was dying.
– The day she died there was just a really, really terrible reaction from my family members, says Prince Harry in the interview.
He accused the family of once again leaking and sowing negative stories in the press, when he himself should have wanted the unit.
– I said: we are here to mark the life of grandmother and mourn her loss. Can we be together as a family?
Prince Harry says he doesn’t know how he and other family members can change the current situation.
He directs criticism to the stepmother
The interview sparked reactions in the British press. The Guardian writes that the interview “is so sad it could turn the Queen into a republican”.
Harry’s allegations against King Charles’ wife Camilla, in particular, made headlines.
In the book he reveals that he begged his father not to marry Camilla. He also accuses his stepmother of leaking information to the press, claiming that her desire to restore her public image made her “dangerous”.
The British royal family has so far not commented on this, but they also don’t have a tradition of talking about private matters.
