“It is very sad,” said the Earl of Wessex. “Oddly enough, we’ve all experienced something similar. We’ve all had excessive interference and attention in our lives. Everyone has dealt with it differently.”
Edward calls Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back “a very difficult decision”, but wishes them nothing but the best.
Last week, Prince Edward did not want to respond substantively to Harry and Meghan’s much-discussed interview with Oprah Winfrey. In a joint conversation with his wife Sophie with The Telegraph, they instead joked that they had no idea what the interviewer was talking about.
