Prince Christian of Denmark recently celebrated his birthday. Unfortunately, this party was not attended by his cousin, Nikolai.
Christian celebrated his birthday at the palace and was attended by his extended family. There were several relatives present including his uncle, Prince Joachim, his aunt Princess Mary, and his cousins Count Felix, Count Henrik, and Contess Athena. Unfortunately, Joachim’s eldest son, Nikolai, was not present, Mother.
Nikolai himself is currently studying abroad, specifically at the University of Technology in Sydney. Even though he couldn’t attend his cousin’s big event, this man who also works as a model also prayed for him on social media.
“Happy 18 years old Christian! May everyone celebrate as you deserve,” Nikolai was quoted as saying on the page People.
This birthday party saw the second appearance of Prince Joachim’s family at a major royal event after Queen Margrethe II revoked the royal titles of Joachim’s four children in early 2023. At that time, Prince Joachim criticized the way this decision was handled and said he received this decision five days earlier.
Nikolai’s life at the moment
Not long ago, Nikolai uploaded a portrait of himself and his loved ones enjoying the summer before leaving for Australia to study. He also wrote that this was his last day in Europe.
“My last days in Europe,” he wrote in the Instagram caption, showing himself sitting on a boat in the harbor with his father and mother.
Another photo shows Nikolai making a cheese plate with friends and going out to have fun. He was also seen swimming in the lake with his younger brother, Henrik.
In May, a spokesperson for Nikolai’s mother, Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg, confirmed that 23-year-old Nikolai would spend his time at university in Sydney.
“The choice fell on Australia because it is very foreign to a Dane like me. I have never traveled that far and I am sure that seeing this corner of the world requires more than a two week holiday. Therefore I want to try moving there,” continued Nikolai.
Several months before going abroad, Nikolai received news that his grandmother had stripped him of his title as prince of the Kingdom of Denmark. What were conditions like at that time?
