Birthday party
On Christian’s eighteenth birthday, the changing of the guard takes place at Amalienborg in Copenhagen. The prince will appear on the balcony together with Queen Margrethe and other relatives. In the evening, Margrethe organizes a gala dinner. Peers from all over Denmark have been invited to that dinner.
The Danish court also announced that Christian will participate in a meeting of the Danish Council of State on November 14. After that meeting, Christian can be appointed regent. The prince will not yet take a seat in the Council of State until a succession of the throne has taken place.

Future plans
Like Princess Amalia, Prince Christian has chosen to decline his annual allowance, which he is entitled to from the age of 18. In the coming year, the prince first wants to focus on completing his school. From the moment Christian turns 21, financing will be reviewed again.
Prince Christian is currently studying at Ordrup Gymnasium in Charlottenlund, north of Copenhagen. The prince switched schools last year after his old school, Herlufsholm, was discredited.
