Prince Charles, about whom it became known on Wednesday that he was infected with the coronavirus, thanked the public for the many get well wishes he received.
“Many thanks for all your recovery messages addressed to the Royal Highness,” it said Clarence House, one of the official London residences of the British court. “He was touched by your nice words.”
On Wednesday, it was announced that the 71-year-old prince has “mild symptoms”, but is otherwise in good health.
Charles’ wife Camilla has also been tested for the virus, but is not infected. Both are currently in home isolation in their home in Scotland.
After the Crown Prince and Camilla showed symptoms, the National Health Service decided to test them for the virus. Because Charles has had many different appointments in recent weeks, it is not possible to trace where he contracted the virus.

The coronavirus in short
- The coronavirus mainly spreads from person to person via sneezing and cough drops. The chance of becoming infected through surfaces such as door handles is small. This chance decreases if you wash your hands often.
