For Prince Charles it is a period of great changes and, above all, of problems, large and small, to be solved. After the death of his father, the Duke of Edinburgh, and with Queen Elizabeth intending to delegate more and more responsibilities to other members of the Royal Family, he must hold the reins firmly of the Monarchy, keeping faith with its principles.
The headaches are, therefore, the order of the day and one derives precisely from the last wishes expressed by Prince Philip, which could cause another serious split in the family. Apparently, in fact, the husband of Queen Elizabeth, before dying, would have asked her eldest son and heir to the throne, to renounce the title he deserves by right, that Duke of Edinburgh.
To inherit the title, according to the will of the Prince Philip, it should have been, instead, the younger son Edoardo, became Earl of Wessex when he married his wife Sophie, in 1999. Already then, in fact, he was promised the title of Duke of Edinburgh, which he would receive on the death of his father. A promise that, to date, has not yet been kept and that could be definitively broken.
That of Carlo it is not just pure selfishness and the desire to assert a right even to the detriment of Prince Philip’s wishes. The granting of the title to his brother Edoardo, in fact, clashes with his vision of a monarchy that he would like to implement once he has inherited the throne. His idea is that of drastically reduce the number of active members of the Royal Family and, therefore, is reluctant to bestow titles.
A choice, that of Prince Charles, which, if taken to the end, would deeply displease Edoardo, who shared pleasant moments and many principles with his father and who is actively engaging to support Queen Elizabeth after the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.
A quarrel that would also add up to the one with Harry and Meghan, which by now far from London continue to leave the whole world speechless with their statements and that with the heir to the throne they would seem to be to short irons. What will Prince Charles do? Will he give in, trying to maintain strong relationships with his family members or will he stick to his ideas at any cost?
