Prince Charles has never wondered what the skin color of his grandson Archie, the child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, would be. A spokesman for the British Crown Prince said this in response to a claim made in a new book.

Reuters news agency reported this on Monday. In the book Brothers And Wives: Inside The Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan, author Christopher Andersen writes that Charles wondered what the child’s “color” would be.
“This is fiction and not worth further comment,” Charles’s spokesman told reporters in Barbados. The prince is there to participate in a national holiday.
According to the news website Page Six, the book is alleged to have a conversation between Charles and his wife Camilla on the morning of Harry and Meghan’s engagement in 2017. Charles is said to have said: ‘I wonder what the kids will look like? ‘
Camilla was apparently “slightly surprised” by that question, replying, “Well, absolutely gorgeous, I’m sure,” reports Page Six. According to the book, Charles then lowered his voice and asked his wife, “I mean, what do you think their children’s skin color might be?”
‘Senior royal’
The book, due out Tuesday, is fueling rumors that Charles is the “senior royal” Meghan talked about in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March. This person is said to have expressed concerns about how dark her son’s skin might be.
Meghan, whose mother is black and father is white, also told Oprah that her son Archie had been denied the title of prince because of concerns within the royal family about how dark his skin might be.
After the interview with Oprah, Buckingham Palace said Markle’s allegations, particularly about race, were concerning, were taken very seriously and would be personally investigated by the family.
