Prince Charles commemorates dead police officers | Entertainment

entertainment">The commemoration came two days this year after an officer in south London was shot dead by a detainee. Charles called this in his speech “the last heartbreaking evidence” of the risks involved as a police officer. The suspect, a 23-year-old man, is still in hospital himself. He shot himself after his act but survived.

entertainment">“I especially want to remember the deaths of the agents who have been killed since we met in Glasgow last year,” said Charles. “I want to express my deepest condolences to the families.”

entertainment">The memorial service lasted about twenty minutes. Prime Minister Boris Johnson was also virtually present.
