King of England III, who took the throne last month. Charles’ brother, Prince Andrew, only shares the 30-room, £30m Royal Lodge mansion with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
However, Prince Andrew, who was forced to leave his official duties in the British Royal Family due to his close friendship with billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was imprisoned for pedophilia and sexual abuse, is the position of his mother, Queen II. He was even more shaken by Elizabeth’s death.
Known to be not on good terms with his older brother, King Charles, Andrew’s refusal to leave the mansion, which was expected to be renovated, was surprising.
£7 MILLION Spent
The King believes the property could be repurposed, but Andrew, who has taken over the house on a long-term lease and has spent up to £7m of his own fortune on renovations, refuses to budge.
Sources say it would make sense for the prince to temporarily move into nearby Frogmore Cabin, the former home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
But the source also claims that Andrew fears that he may be evicted permanently if he leaves the property, albeit temporarily: “Andrew has roof repairs scheduled for the end of this summer and will take several months to complete, and he was told that staying at home during these repairs could be a problem. But he himself does not want to go.”
Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the matter, but another source insisted that the Duke of York did not need to be moved.
