The British royal house failed to send King Charles’s younger brother, Prince Andrew, a birthday greeting on Twitter this year as well.
The British royal family’s official Twitter account bore no sign on Sunday that the scandal-plagued prince had turned 63.
It is the second year in a row that neither the palace nor the British government has wished Prince Andrew a happy birthday.
Instead, Andrew had to settle for a lengthy article in tabloid newspaper The Sun which suggested he could lose Royal Lodge, a mansion in the grounds of Windsor Castle, which he lives in with his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York.
In addition, older brother Charles is said to tighten the royal household’s spending and cut Andrew’s pocket money, an annual allowance of £249,000 awarded by his mother Queen Elizabeth II. If that happens, Andrew will have to make do with the meager pension he earned during his service in the Royal Navy.
Prince Andrew’s fall from grace has come as a result of sex allegations against him by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged victims. His links to Epstein are why Andrew has been stripped of all his honors and royal duties.
