That was about time too. Prince Andrew is currently staying at Balmoral Castle, Queen Elizabeth’s Scottish estate, where he cannot receive a subpoena. Virginia’s civil case is now on hold, as Andrew’s team must first read the charges and be given time to respond before the case starts. Until recently, Andrew managed to evade the documents and every attempt to deliver the papers to him failed. Now, in all likelihood, they have finally been received.

Even the birth of his granddaughter on September 18 does not get Andrew off the estate, where he sits high and dry. Now he admits the inevitable after the papers were mailed and couriered to him by Virginia representatives last Tuesday.
That means Andrew’s team now has a total of 21 days to respond to the charges of rape, assault and sexual abuse. An accusation he has always denied until now. The Virginia team expects Andrew to request an extension (read: postponement). The Duke would do everything in his power to clear his name after this scandal by coming out of the fight fighting.
