Prince Andrew did not pay £12 million in settlement with Virginia Giuffre Royalty

RoyaltyIn February, the British newspaper ‘The Telegraph’ reported that Prince Andrew (62) had paid no less than £12 million for a settlement after he was charged with sexual abuse. But sources now tell ‘The Sun’ that the actual amount paid is a lot lower.

Six months ago, the British Prince Andrew reached a settlement with Virginia Giuffre, the young woman who accused him of rape and sexual abuse. At the time it was claimed that he was willing to pay £12million to make the case disappear, but sources now say that is not the case. “It was thought that Virginia had received a £12 million settlement from Andrew, but that is not true,” it says in ‘The Sun’. “It was a lot less than that, around £3 million. No doubt that would have affected the terms she had agreed to.”

The source suspects that that ‘low’ amount is the reason why Virginia did not have to sign a non-disclosure agreement. The woman would certainly write a book about her experience with Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew.

Denial

Virginia Giuffre officially charged the British prince with sexual abuse last year. The woman – now 38 – said she was assaulted three times by the Queen’s son when she was just 17. Andrew reportedly came into contact with Giuffre through the abuse network of now-deceased billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell. The latter has been found guilty by another court in the US of recruiting underage girls for sex. A lawsuit in the United States over Andrew’s alleged abuse was set to take place later this year. If the royal were to lose that case, he threatened to pay compensation of five million euros. The Prince himself continued to deny all allegations all along and he continues to do so now.

“Jeffrey Epstein is known to have trafficked countless young girls for years,” read a statement in the court documents. “Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein and commends Mrs. Giuffre’s courage to stand up for herself. He vows to show his remorse for his association with the billionaire by supporting the fight against sex trafficking and its victims. Andrew never intended to tarnish Giuffre’s reputation. He accepts that she has suffered as a victim of sexual abuse and various public attacks.”
