The eldest son of Prince Albert II of Monaco takes flight. At the age of 20, Alexandre Grimaldi decided to settle in New York and he discusses his projects in the columns of the prestigious Tatler magazine. Between his desire to serve as an ambassador for Monaco abroad and his move to New York with his girlfriend, Alexandre reveals himself during a unique photo shoot.

Alexandre Grimaldi wants to continue his studies at a New York university

Only two months ago, Alexandre Grimaldi explained that he was studying at a British university. “I am at an English university in the United Kingdom. And I still live with my family for now. It’s a blessing when you study. We don’t have to worry about anything.”he declared in Point of view. It seems that the eldest son of Prince Albert II of Monaco has made a recent radical choice since there is no longer really any question of studying at the Royal Holloway which he attended until now. He plans to now study business or international relations at NYU or Fordham.

His girlfriend is already accompanying him to New York

“Coming to New York will be better for me, to grow as a person, to be independent”explains Alexandre to journalist Eilidh Hargreaves, who landed a very long interview with the son of the Monegasque head of state for the prestigious magazine Tatler which also devotes its cover to him. In this December issue, which will appear on newsstands on November 2, the young man reveals having crossed the Atlantic. He wants to settle in New York. While he found his own accommodation, Alexandre lived at the Four Seasons hotel with his girlfriend. ” I’m very good “assures Alexandre when the journalist asks him how his love life is going. “We met in Monaco, I’m moving to New York, she’s already moving to New York.” The final move from London to New York is expected to take place in January 2024.

The ambitions of the eldest son of Prince Albert II of Monaco

Regarding his future, Alexandre seems to want to come out of the shadows, where he remained hidden throughout his childhood. Now, the 20-year-old wants to be useful and why not help his father. « [J’aspire à] working in relationship with my father and becoming, let’s say, a global ambassador of Monaco, and bringing business opportunities back to Monaco, that’s what I talked about with him.”affirms Alexandre Grimaldi.

“With my father things are going well, we are starting to see each other a lot more. During the holiday season we spend a lot of time together. It’s a very good relationship”, explains Alexandre, who is delighted with the approach of the Christmas holiday period which offers more opportunities to get together with family. Alexandre is obviously close to his maternal family but the Grimaldis are also there for him. He also has very tender words for his aunt and godmother, Princess Stéphanie. “She’s a lot of fun: very funny, very down to earth”said Alexander. “I’m quite close to her. In recent years we have had dinner and lunch together to celebrate my birthday with my cousins. She was there for me as my godmother and aunt.”
