description

The new PRIME Skiing print edition # 30 is now available – the highlights of the new magazine at a glance!

PRIME Skiing #30 – Cover

We are particularly pleased that Josh Absenger on the last issue of this season about the title sails! The Schladminger has more than deserved his first cover, after all, the Armada rider has been tirelessly on the scene for 20 years and is a role model for many kids at Absolut Park. How about this clean and stylish shot from the photographer Christoph Johann you can read from page 30 onwards.

PRIME Skiing #30 – Artikel Highlights

In the past I have used the editorial often enough to let my mostly justified displeasure run free and the boiling bile splash onto the paper unfiltered. But this time I don’t want to bother you unnecessarily with my grumpiness or even drag you down, but rather encourage you to tear down walls with a manifesto. Liberté, Égalité, cleavage – with this declaration of war, the Enlightenment brought the existing system of absolutism to collapse at the end of the 18th century. And we too demand freedom, equality, skiing leisure – for everyone! We all want to nibble on the powder again, which in the last few months was only reserved for those who were fortunate enough to be inside the alpine “freeski cage”.

Hike together on snow-covered mountains, sniff away the deserved summit beer, cruise untracked slopes or do a few relaxed laps in the snow park with the crew – we miss that!

With this issue we want to at least free your mind and let you dream of how it will hopefully be again in the near future. For this reason we have put together a “mindblowing” composition of stories for you, which above all illuminates the beauty, freedom and creativity of our sport.

With Adam Ü we have found the perfect interlocutor who cannot be pigeonholed and who makes his living as an American jack-of-all-trades. The guys from push the boundaries again The Flamingowho turn night into day and go freeriding under the full moon. Visionaries of style – this is how you could describe the crew of “The Bunch“Aptly, because the Scandinavians have revolutionized freestyle in recent years. And finally, tell us Josh Absengerwhat he understands by creativity – everything in flow. So let your thoughts run free, tear down the walls in your mind and get over the summer well.

PRIME Skiing Magazin # 30 – Everything in the flow

In order to create a successful photo, many factors have to come together. Everything has to flow. Playing with the terrain while riding has to go with the creativity of the photographer. Josh Absenger tells us how his cover shot finally came about and what is the attraction of the shoot for him.

The word “jack-of-all-trades” may have gone out of fashion, but describes Adam’s vita quite clearly. We asked the freerider, telemarker, scientist and musician about all of their interests.

PRIME Skiing Magazin #30 – Full Moon Skiing

As soon as the sun has set, the silence of the night falls over the snow-covered peaks. When the full moon bathes this scene in sufficient light once a month, there is a chance to go skiing.

Photo Workshop

PRIME Skiing Magazin #30 – Photo Workshop

In the last part of our photo workshop we will finally take you into the snow so that you can apply your theoretical knowledge in practice. You can only work creatively in the field if you are familiar with the use of your camera, because in the mountains no two shots are the same and you always have to adapt to completely new situations. If you then turn the controls almost automatically, you can focus completely on capturing the moment creatively. You can read what you should pay attention to in the third episode of our workshop.

PRIME Skiing Magazin #30 – Interview: The Bunch Crew

“The Bunch” is a freestyle crew from Sweden who, like no other group, stand for their very own interpretation of freestyle skiing. While she is celebrated in the core scene for her individuality, some outside of this circle have trouble understanding the creativity that lies behind this style. We asked Magnus Granér and Alex Hackel for an interview to shed some light on the darkness.

PRIME Skiing Magazin # 30 – Freetouring Skitest 2020/2021 – The ten best models

The category of broad, but still easy freeriders was and is the absolute winner this season due to the pandemic. Exactly these models were already sold out in many shops in autumn. The boom in freetouring skis was only fueled by Corona, because this segment has been recording steadily growing sales figures for years. The designers of the individual brands are largely responsible for this: Whereas in the past the slats suitable for ascent were only weight-reduced versions of classic freeriders, the engineers have now managed to use carbon and light materials in such a way that the skis can deliver a really solid performance – and that too in difficult snow conditions. Realistically, that wasn’t always the case. We have put together ten models for you that perfectly meet all the criteria of the freetouring category. Winter is not over yet, so get out there!

That’s it – more will not be revealed.
