/ world today news/ “He who controls the past also controls the future.
He who rules the present rules the past.”
George Orwell
Already on his first visit to the NATO headquarters, Prime Minister Denkov demonstrated a diligent zeal to bring himself to the Western allies at the expense of the historical truth. At a joint press conference with Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, our Prime Minister stated:
“The risks became very visible when Russia invaded Ukraine because it was clear that
for the first time since World War II, someone in Europe is willing to break the boundaries.”
Complete disregard for historical facts! Or cheap manipulation. The first violation (not “readiness”, but fact!) was the occupation of Northern Cyprus by Turkish troops in 1974, which led to the creation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is still unrecognized by any country (except Turkey). There were no Western reactions to Turkey at that time – neither imposed sanctions, nor any effective measures to restore the status of the island of Cyprus. Doesn’t our prime minister know that (language for the academic title)?
A year later, on August 1, 1975, he signed
The Helsinki Agreement,
which established new principles of international legal norms – confirmation of the territorial borders of states after the Second World War. We can consider this event as a starting point in international politics – it includes the inviolability of the territories and non-interference in the internal affairs of the states – parties to the treaty. The final act was signed by 33 European countries, including the then Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact countries, plus the United States and Canada. The agreement was respected until 1999, when the United States and its NATO allies took military action against the Republic of Yugoslavia under the pretext of defending Kosovo. (Incidentally, this military action, as well as similar ones by the US, is called a “military operation”, in this case: “Allied Power”, not a war – this, for the information of Putin’s critics, that he calls the war in Ukraine ” military operation” – we see from whom he took an example!)
As a result of the two-month bombing of Yugoslavia with “smart” bombs with depleted uranium and the death of over 1,700 civilians (including the bombing of the “wrong” Chinese Embassy in Belgrade with the victims of Chinese journalists), the autonomous Serbian region of Kosovo was separated from the territory of Yugoslavia and created subsequently, the new state formation of Kosovo, still unrecognized by dozens of countries. Moreover, without a referendum, but with a decision of the local parliament, composed only of Albanian parties, without the participation of Serbian representatives in it. Doesn’t Kosovo count as a violation of the borders of sovereign Yugoslavia!? Moreover, the second after the Second World War. Why then is it claimed that Russia was the first to break the post-war status quo? In that
this manipulation is periodically implanted
– years ago by the former Prime Minister of Great Britain Theresa May, then repeated in our country by our famous political scientist and university teacher Ognyan Minchev, now by our last Prime Minister Denkov. Ignorance of history or transparent manipulation?
He also added an additional unpleasant flavor to the military theme
the speech of the Minister of Defense Tagarev before the National Assembly.
The same admitted that he worked as a consultant to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine “in various international formats”, but for “his work on the Ukrainian side” he did not receive “a single hryvnia” (for the unfamiliar reader – “hryvnia” is the Ukrainian currency unit). However, a little later, Tagarev explained to journalists that “in an international format along the lines of NATO and other international organizations” he was “paid” for this activity. Of course, Mr. Minister, that the payment in convertible currency is preferable to inflationary Ukrainian “hryvnias”! Then what do you mean by the cheap line that you did not take a single “hryvnia” from Ukraine? Posing as an international consultant-altruist? Cheap, as the poet would say: “Irrelevant! Change! No worth!” Kostadinov correctly called him “Fyodor Tagarenko”.
That is why the latest sociological survey of “Alpha Research” shows
a decline in the confidence of supporters of the ruling coalition/”assembly”
– about 2% for GERD and almost 5% for PP – DB. How many more will they take off?
