Prime Minister Yanev: By October 15 we will send to Brussels the Plan for Recovery and Sustainability

Bulgaria will send the Recovery and Sustainability Plan to Brussels by October 15th. This was stated by the caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev after the “Thracian Memory” pilgrimage in the town of Madzharovo, quoted by BTV The event was also attended by Vice President Iliana Yotova, who has Thracian roots, diplomats and clerics.

“The challenges are many. We have taken the necessary measures so that it is largely completed, the open issues at the expert level remain, I hope they will be resolved within the next week. Thus, by October 15 at the latest, we must be ready to submit the plan, “Yanev said.

A few days ago, the Deputy Prime Minister for Management of European Funds explained Atanas Pekanov that the lack of vision in the energy sector hinders the sending of the document. He specified that Bulgaria has made a commitment in 2035 that the percentage of coal used in our country will be 0 and added that it does not set out what the steps will be to achieve this goal.

According to him, Bulgaria’s energy strategy was commented on by the political forces in the 46th National Assembly. He recalled that 2036 was recorded as the end date in a national document for the closure of coal-fired power plants.

“We are still negotiating with the European Commission to extend this deadline, to postpone it, because the issue is complex, it concerns many people employed in this industry.”

Yanev also commented on the presidential race for Dondukov 2: “We should not be surprised by the political situation and the desire of certain people to nominate candidates, certain parties to seek realization – this is part of the normal political situation in a democracy. “Things have to unfold in front of people’s eyes, so that there is no impression that something is being done behind the scenes.”

“We are here to bow our heads, to pay tribute to the thousands of victims. Remembrance Day, we must preserve this memory and pass it on to generations, because it is the basis of our unity, what moves us and will make us more successful in the future, “said Yanev.

In 1913, near the present-day town of Madzharovo, the March of Salvation by Bulgarians from Alexandroupoli ended. They were pursued by a Turkish soldier and 1,800 people were killed near Arda – women, children and the elderly. Two Bulgarian voivodes defended the refugees. Thanks to them, over 20,000 people were saved, and Madjarovo received its name in gratitude to one of them – Dimitar Madjarov.

108 years after the bloody events, Vice President Iliana Yotova recalled the words of Captain Petko Voevoda: “There are no Bulgarians, no Turks, we are all people. But people eat each other. Why – it’s all about money. According to Yotova, the Captain’s words can be applied to the present day. In Madzharovo, the vice president declined to comment on the nominations of Lozan Panov for head of state and of Nevyana Miteva for vice president of Anastas Gerdjikov.
