Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé celebrates the day of March 8 with the women sellers of the markets of Greater Lomé
Women resellers gathered within the Association of Market Leaders of Greater Lomé (ALMaL) also celebrated International Women’s Rights Day, March 8, 2023, at the Bè-Klikamé vegetable market. On this occasion, they had the surprise visit of the head of government, Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, accompanied by some members of the government. She took the opportunity to congratulate these valiant women and urge them to pay taxes and municipal taxes, which is a civic duty to contribute to the development of the country.
Great was the joy of the women sellers of the markets of Greater Lomé to receive the unexpected visit of the Prime Minister, Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, on March 8, 2023 during their celebration of March 8, which they observed in the new market dedicated to the sale of vegetables located in Bè-Klikamé. Mrs Tomegah-Dogbé who had by her side the Minister of Sports and Leisure, Lidi-Bessi Kama, godmother of the event, and that of Grassroots Development, Myriam Dossou, once again congratulated these brave women who are at the heart of Togo’s development. One of the reasons which, according to her, leads the government, under the leadership of the Head of State, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, to multiply actions aimed at the empowerment and development of Togolese women. This is demonstrated by the numerous laws adopted to guarantee and defend women’s rights. Returning to the themes chosen by ALMaL for this edition, relating to the importance of sport and the payment of municipal taxes and duties, the Prime Minister urged women to comply with this exercise which is a civic duty. She explained to them the merits of these royalties which allow the government to carry out several social projects, reminding them in passing that this is how they also contribute to the construction of the country.
An exhortation that did not fall on deaf ears, because through their spokesperson, Mrs. Pascaline Dangbuie, president of the women resellers of the Adidogomé market, the members of the ALMaL promised to do their part for the development from the country. Nevertheless, they wished that awareness raising on how to pay these taxes be made to them regularly. This, in order to enable them to comply with the provisions provided for by the State. The sellers of the Greater Lomé markets also took the opportunity to raise certain grievances with the head of government. Which are essential to them for their socio-professional development.
