Vladimir Putin is “Responsible for all kinds of terrible things”, the Canadian prime minister commented on Wednesday, Justin trudeau, without going so far as to describe the Russian President as a “murderer” as did his American counterpart, Joe Biden.
Trudeau, who does not usually criticize other leaders in public, thus responded to a question about the recent statements by the US president about his Russian counterpart.
“Whether the invasion of Crimea, the big cyberattacks for whom he is responsible or the attempt to destabilize our democracies, I am sure that he is responsible for all kinds of terrible things because his behavior continues to demonstrate it, “said the Canadian Prime Minister in an interview in Sirius XM.
When asked if he also considered Putin a “murderer”, Trudeau admitted that he had “no information” to say.
Trudeau recalled meeting the Russian President several times abroad since he became prime minister in 2015.

“I always had the feeling that he was looking at you and telling you what was best for him at all times,” he said. “He’s not particularly interested in what the Western world or Canada thinks of him.”
Putin is not “Neither a supporter nor a friend” from Canada, Trudeau concluded. “We have to remain lucid and clear in how to approach it.”
Hours earlier, Ottawa announced new sanctions against nine Russian officials in protest at the treatment of Putin’s main opponent, Alexei Navalny.
He returned to Russia in January after his convalescence in Germany after a poisoning for which he blamed the Russian president.
