New Delhi ∙ Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that it is unfortunate that the previous governments did not pay enough attention to the modernization of the Indian Railways and the current government is going ahead with the reforms. The Prime Minister was flagging off 9 Vande Bharat trains to tourist and pilgrimage centers in 11 states.
The new Vande Bharat trains have been allotted to the states of Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gujarat. “Rapid infrastructure development is also the wish fulfillment of 140 crore Indian people. The popularity of Vandebharat trains is increasing day by day. 1.11 crore people have already traveled on Vande Bharat,” said the Prime Minister.
At present there are 25 Vande Bharat trains in the country. 9 new trains have been launched on the track. The Prime Minister added that the day is not far when Vande Bharat trains will reach all parts of the country. “Railway is the most trusted companion of India’s poor and middle class. More people rely on the railways every day than in other countries,” Modi said.
“With the success of Chandrayaan-3, the dreams and hopes of the common man have come true. Modi pointed out that G-20 success is the strength of India’s democracy and diversity. Udaipur–Jaipur, Tirunelveli–Madura–Chennai, Hyderabad–Bengaluru, Vijayawada–Chennai, Patna–Howrah, Kasaragod–Thiruvananthapuram. The new Vandebharat trains are on Rourkhala-Bhubaneswar-Puri, Ranchi-Howrah and Jamunagar-Ahmedabad routes. The central government aims to raise the Indian Railways to international standards by putting more Vandebharat trains on the track.
