Yesterday, Prime Minister Najib Mikati conducted a sightseeing tour at the Palace with the United Nations Special Coordinator in Lebanon, Joanna Wronczka, ahead of the UN Security Council meeting on November 22, to discuss International Resolution No. 1701.
After the meeting, Frontska said, “I wanted, after the Arab Summit in Riyadh, to meet President Mikati and exchange views, especially since the Security Council will hold a meeting on November 22 to discuss Resolution 1701 and new developments in Lebanon.”
Frontiska also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdullah Bouhabib, who announced after the meeting that he “requested that the Secretary-General of the United Nations be informed of our appreciation for his position in his recent interview with CNN, especially his expression of moral and humanitarian voice in defense of children and civilians in Gaza.” Bouhabib pointed out that “the continued Israeli statements and threats to destroy Lebanon constitute a flagrant violation of Resolution 1701,” pointing out that “Israeli extremism brings disasters and moderation brings peace.”
