Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: Amendments to Law Submitted to Parliament, Simultaneous Elections and Referendums for Cost Reduction

Prime Minister Mateusz Moraveckis, representing the ruling party “Law and Justice”, informed at the press conference that the relevant amendments to the law have already been submitted to the parliament.

On the other hand, the main goal of holding simultaneous elections and referendums is cost reduction.

The specific question of the referendum has not yet been formulated, but it will most likely be one.

CONTEXT:

European Union member states reached a conceptual agreement at the beginning of last month on a plan to share responsibility for illegally entered migrants.

The first host countries will have to process the asylum applications, while the others will have to accept part of the arrivals or pay 20 thousand euros for each person not accepted within the quota.

Already at the end of last month, Morawiecki promised not to allow this decision to be imposed on Poland and promised to block any plan that could force the country to take in refugees.
