Prime Minister: Initiate provisions for the release of goods in ports, respectively

Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting today to follow the markets and preparations for the holy month of Ramadan in the presence of Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Domestic Trade, Mr. Al -Qaseer, Minister of Agriculture and Reclamation, Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Muhammad Abu Musa, Undersecretary First Governor of the Central Bank, Eng. Mohamed El Sewedy, President of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Adel Nasser, Vice President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, President of the Giza Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Alaa Ezz, Secretary General of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, and Ashraf El-Gazairly, President of the Chamber of Food Industries in the Federation of Industries.

The President of the Council of Ministers confirmed that this meeting aims to initiate the procedures for the subsequent release of all goods in the ports, requesting the preparation of a plan for the release of all goods in the ports.

Madbouly indicated that he has agreed with the governor of the Central Bank on the priorities that will be shifted according to their order, with the aim of working to speed up the release of all goods in ports, especially with regard to foodstuffs, in particular in view of the approaching holy month of Ramadan, as well as everything related to production needs.

The Prime Minister stressed that the government is working through all its agencies to work on the availability of various goods in the markets, with the aim of achieving a price balance, to reduce the burden on citizens.

Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, Minister of Supply and Domestic Trade, said: In this regard, coordination is underway with the Federation of Industries and the chambers of commerce and it has been agreed that priority should be given to everything related to the ‘food industry.

The meeting examined the quantities of goods released by the banking sector over the past Wednesday and Thursday, in particular foodstuffs, such as oils and pulses, as well as meat and fodder, since it was indicated that the goods were released on these two days worth about $300 million. .

Al-Qasir, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, said the announcement of a clear plan for customs clearance of goods will serve as a message of stability and reassurance to the market, and therefore a balance in prices will occur, noting that a plan be announced for the release of feedstuffs, whether they be soy, corn or feedstock additives, by reviewing a report on the total quantities currently in customs and its proposals for release priorities.

Engineer Mohamed El Sewedy, President of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, stressed the importance of speeding up the release of various products, especially food products, and everything related to food processing, as well as various production requirements.

While Dr. Alaa Ezz, Secretary General of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, explained, saying, Arrangements are currently underway for various merchandise outlets to be set up in various governorates as the holy month of Ramadan approaches, and there is full coordination with the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Federation of Industries.
