Prime Minister Alexander De Croo (Open VLD) could be found on the festival field of Rock Werchter on Saturday. He comes there with his wife to enjoy the music, but also the atmosphere. He is forced to add that he constantly has to take pictures with festival-goers.

Anyone looking will find De Croo somewhere around the Main Stage on Saturday for most of the day. The Prime Minister of our country is going to watch the concert of the London pop phenomenon Anne-Marie, and afterwards also hangs on the stage for Twenty One Pilots. He concludes with Imagine Dragons. You could say that the Prime Minister is a fan of the hit machines on the site. “Ah, that’s really for fun,” he says with a beer in hand. “We also come for the atmosphere.”
De Croo is at Rock Werchter with his wife Annik, but regrets one thing: “We should have brought our youngest son with us. He is 14 and would love that here too. Our festivals are the best in the world after all.”
He takes it for granted that he is asked every time for a selfie. “The day everyone walks in a circle around me, then I have a problem. (laughs) No, it’s not that bad.” And before the prime minister can start his next sentence, a festival-goer asks for a hug.
