Primary School in Chihuahua Illegally Possesses New Textbooks

At least one primary school in this city already has several sets of the new textbooks, although their distribution is not yet allowed in the state of Chihuahua because there is a legal procedure that prevents it.

Mario Alberto Gonzago, director of the San Francisco del Oro federal primary school, located in the Praderas del Sol subdivision, already has at least two sets of books for each grade, which, he said, have been sent to him from Guerrero, San Luis Potosí , Michoacán and Zacatecas, among other states; However, he said that he has used the material only to show it to teachers and parents so that they can physically know them directly.

“What we are doing is that the teachers know the printed materials, we do not work on the program, it is not possible due to the issue of the protection that the governor put in place, but that should not limit us to knowing them and if it is physically, then We are doing it: reviewing them,” he mentioned.

He stressed that teachers are aware that they cannot legally teach with them; However, they have summoned parents to give them talks about said texts.

“We are inviting parents to read them virtually and at some point they will also see them physically, but right now on the part of parents there is an acceptance of knowing the materials,” he added.

The representative of the governor in the Northern Zone, Óscar Ibáñez, recalled that last Monday a judge reaffirmed that the prohibition continues on the delivery of books while the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation gives a final ruling, so their use , even if they download them or bring them from other states, it is not allowed.

The official said he did not know if sanctions could be applied to teachers who were found to have used such material, but insisted that at the moment only the printed guides distributed by the State Government could be used.
