The Irish clothing chain Primark will open a store in Prague, the first in the Czech Republic, on June 17. The Czech market will become the fourteenth in which the company operates. The company will create more than 300 jobs there, the press release said.
The store will be located on three floors of a newly built multifunctional building, the so-called The Flow Building, located on the corner of Wenceslas Square and Opletalova Street. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Primark postponed the start of operations several times, originally planned for May last year.
The store with an area of 4600 square meters will open to customers at 09:00. In addition to clothing, footwear and accessories, it also offers cosmetics and household accessories. The store will be open Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 21:00, on Sunday between 10:00 and 20:00.
The Prague store will open as 396. “This is an important new market for the company, as we continue to expand in Central and Eastern Europe,” said Maciej Podwojski, regional manager for Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. Primark announced last year that it would open its second store in the Czech Republic in Brno. He signed a lease agreement in the Olympia shopping center. The branch should start operating next year. The company is also planning to expand to Slovakia, where it has concluded a lease agreement for the opening of the first local store, it said today.
