Details on Prima Additives
Prima Additive was previously the Additive Manufacturing division of Prima Industrie Group in Italy. The business developed Direct Energy Deposition (DED) and Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) machines and other machine tools for additive manufacturing. The company is one of the most active companies in the Italian 3D printing sector. Prima Additive presented three new machines at formnext 2021. These included two powder bed fusion systems and a DED system.
3D-Druck-System Print Genius 150 Double Wavelength
Prima Industrie is known for its laser systems and devices with a special laser source configuration. The company’s platforms include the Print Genius 150 Double Wavelength 3D printing system, which features 300-watt infrared lasers and a 200-watt green laser. Both lasers work alternately in the same working area. The Print Genius 250 3D printing system is suitable for highly productive metal 3D printing applications. Production times are reduced thanks to the 500W single-mode dual laser with intelligent software for quick component alignment. The definition of the machine parameters is also shortened.
Prima Industrie invested in 3D New Technologies in 2017 and collaborated with the group to develop innovative PBF systems. By working together, both companies aim to combine their capabilities and accelerate the development and commercialization process of AM products and the growth plans of the new company. A project will be launched in the following months and is expected to be backed by new investors. With this, the partners want to accelerate their business development plans. We will report on further developments in the 3D-grenzenlos magazine newsletter (subscribe here).
